Ciao Paolo,

Words cannot really express the incredible experience we shared together the past 10 months. Living with you and sharing our lives has been truly amazing, wonderful, and FUN. So many experiences, travels and adventures, it seems like a small lifetime….wow! You are a beautiful, loving, giving, openhearted person, and we will miss you dearly.

In addition to you being a part of our family and our lives you also brought with you your wonderful and generous family. It was a pleasure getting know them and your many friends as well.

Lucia and Pino: We thank you with all our heart for allowing Paolo to live with us this past year. He has touched and altered our lives forever. You have done a magnificent job raising your son, he is a remarkable person with a very bright future, he makes this world a better place to live in for all of us.

Manuel, Alberto, Christian, Piero, Stefy, Rebecca, Andre…Paolo’s friends: Paolo spoke of you often and your friendships with Paolo have added to the richness of his visit with us. Thank you, we look forward to meeting you in person one day soon. If you ever find yourself in California, you will always be welcome in our home.

Well Paolo, so ends this beautiful chapter in our lives. We are sad that it’s over, but also very, very thankful for having the experience. As our lives move on, I’m sure we’ll all look back on this year and its wonderful memories with much happiness.

As the sun sets over the Pacific on your last day in California I have gone to the beach and made a final sunset image for you (I also drank a beer for you ;-)). The image is called “Paolo’s California Sunset” – I hope you like it.
